Spotify one of the most loved audio streaming platform is now live in India. It was launched on October 7, 2008 and since then it has been among the top streaming platform across the globe. Spotify can get you access to over 40 million tracks. I have been using Spotify for a while now .
So here’s why should you consider shifting to Spotify from the other audio streaming platforms in India. First of all the media library that Spotify has to offer is humongous compared to its Indian competitors but its not only about the quantity, the quality is also off charts with up to 320kbps audio on desktop. The app hardly crashes unlike its counterparts. Signing up is very easy and lucid.
Once you sync the app in both your smartphone and laptop, you can literally control music from anywhere. One of the feature that I like the most is that you can check your friends activity in real time and play the songs they are listening to, although it’s a laptop only feature. The app has a clean and smooth UI. The dark theme looks good while saving power for OLED screens.
You can listen to Podcasts, new releases, viral releases which are neatly organised for you in the browse section. The ‘Genres and Moods’ section is the best where you can tune into music according to your taste. The recommendation are great in Spotify probably the best in the market. Once you get your subscription you can listen uninterrupted and download songs without any limit. The subscription plans vary from monthly to annual payments. You can visit the site for more details regarding the payment.
Now, towards the downside of using Spotify, it is costly compared to its Indian competitors. If you are using the free version you are most likely to be pestered by the incessant adds which can ruin your listening experience. The college verification process in order to avail the student discount is pretty arduous. The app lacks a good regional music collection as compared to platforms like Jio Saavn, Gaana , Hungama, Wynk etc. If you are not much into Western music then probably you shouldn’t consider getting a subscription as of now.
Spotify maintains a balance among functionality, appearance and affordability considering the current market scenario. I really enjoyed my experience with Spotify and I hope you will enjoy it to.
